How to Use a Fire Hydrant

Materials needed : Fire hose, hydrant wrench/spanner, 1.5inch hydrant adapter, fire hose nozzle

Overview of a basic fire hydrant

Fire Hydrant Training | Used Fire Equipment

A) Valve
B) Discharge Outlet

 

Place Hydrant Wrench on discharge Outlet (B)

1) Turn Hydrant Wrench Counter Clockwise to remove discharge outlet cap

 

After cap is removed, you will insert a Fire Hydrant to Fire Hose Adapter (B)

Insert Fire Hydrant to Fire Hose Adapter (B)

After inserting Fire Hydrant to Fire Hose Adapter attach Fire Hyrant Wrench (B)

1) Turn Fire Hydrant Wrench clockwise to Tighten the Adapter

 

After the Fire Hose Adapter is tightened, you may now insert the Fire Hose (B)

Turn the Fire Hose Clockwise tightly (B)

After the Fire Hose is attached, you must now turn the water valve (A)

Put the Fire Hydrant Wrench on the water valve (A)

1) Turn the Fire Hydrant Wrench Counter Clockwise to release the water valve

 

You now have high water pressure through your Fire Hose

Adjust the valve on the Fire hydrant to control water pressure

Adjust the Fog Nozzle to change spray diameter or stop the water flow
